§ FAQ Questions

Questions people ask before connecting a wallet

Short answers, and a plain no where the answer is no.

Does Dossier tell me what to buy or sell?

No, and it is built so it cannot. Every grade, tag and written note is produced after a position is already closed. There are no signals, no alerts to buy, no calls, and no watchlist that implies one.

The coach is also blocked from grading with hindsight. An exit is judged only against data that existed before the sell, so it cannot mark you down for missing a move that had not happened yet.

Can Dossier move my funds?

No. Connecting a wallet signs one free, off-chain message that proves you control the address. A signed message is not a transaction: it cannot transfer tokens, approve spending, or interact with a program.

Dossier never asks for a private key or seed phrase, and never requests a transaction approval. If anything claiming to be Dossier asks you to approve a transaction, it is not us.

Do I have to connect a wallet to start?

No. You can start with an email address and attach a wallet whenever you want. Without a wallet there is nothing to import, so the journal stays empty until you link one.

Which chains and wallets are supported?

Solana mainnet only. That is a deliberate limit rather than a roadmap gap: reconstructing the chart around a memecoin fill needs chain-specific handling, and doing it properly for one chain beats doing it loosely for six.

Do I need to upload CSVs or connect an exchange?

No. Dossier reads your swaps from the public ledger. There is no export step, no broker integration and no monthly reconciliation, which is the part of journalling that most people quietly stop doing after two weeks.

How far back does it read my history?

It depends on the plan: 30 days on Free, 90 days on Pro, 365 days on Degen. Backfill is scheduled when you attach the wallet, so the journal fills in without you doing anything.

How long after a trade closes do I get the analysis?

New trades are detected within seconds of the position closing. The graded post-mortem typically follows in under a minute.

If you trade past your monthly analysis quota, the extra trades are still recorded. On Pro they queue and analyze in the next cycle rather than being dropped.

What counts as one trade?

A closed position, not a single swap. Buys, sells and partial exits are grouped into the position they belong to, so scaling in and out produces one graded entry rather than six unrelated rows.

What does the letter grade actually measure?

It is a judgement on the decisions, not on the outcome. A trade that made money by accident after a late chase into a fading move can grade badly, and a well-planned trade that lost can grade well.

That distinction is the entire point. Grading by profit and loss would just tell you what your wallet already tells you.

Is my trading data used to train AI models?

No. Writing the post-mortem sends the trade and its market context to Anthropic, and under our agreement with them that data is not used to train their models.

The numbers are not generated by the model either. Frequencies, market caps and pattern counts are computed from your own data, so the model interprets figures rather than inventing them.

Can I get my data out, or delete it?

Both, from inside the product and without asking anyone. Export runs to CSV or Obsidian-ready Markdown.

Deleting a wallet hard-deletes its trades, positions and analyses immediately. There is no soft-delete and no retention copy.

Is there a free plan, and does it need a card?

Yes and no, in that order. Free gives you one wallet, 30 days of history and 15 analyses a month, with no card required. It is a real way to use the product rather than a demo that expires.

Is there a mobile app or a browser extension?

Neither. Dossier is a web app. There is no extension to install and nothing that sits in your browser while you trade.

Can I run Dossier on a wallet that is not mine?

Only wallets you have attached to your account, which requires proving control of them. A public research surface for arbitrary addresses is not live yet.
